The FIRST Latin Sorority, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated is always seeking to expand.

We welcome ladies from different backgrounds, from all over the country and the world.

One of the primary ambitions of Lambda Theta Alpha has been, and continues to be, the growth and diversity of its sisterhood.

Although Lambda Theta Alpha is a Latin sorority, it is not an exclusive group of women. Lambda Theta Alpha was created in the 70's because Latinas had a special need for support, a foundation and a forum in which to impact the society. Today, Lambda Theta Alpha believes that all women deserve this opportunity and that by uniting together we can learn more, achieve more, and be more. Therefore, the "Interested Ladies of Lambda Theta Alpha" was established and is available to any woman looking for an opportunity to participate in an organization striving for academic success and community service involvement, while maintaining a special interest in the support of all women. Lambda Theta Alpha recognizes the importance of reaching out to others and forming a united coalition of professional, diverse, cultural and politically aware women.

We believe that all women alike should be given an opportunity to make their mark on the world. This is our right and our profound legacy.

The Ladies of Lambda Theta Alpha take great pride in the interest group and devote much time to its success. The main goals of the interest group are to establish working and social relationships with the sisters, as well as with the other interested ladies. In this way, fundraising, community service and activism, as well as social efforts, can be a success. Being part of Lambda Theta Alpha's interest group enables the "Interested Ladies" to work in a professional setting and receive hands-on experience in running an organization. With their collaborative efforts, past interest groups have attained high levels of success and have gained essential insight as to what Lambda Theta Alpha is - an organization...a Sisterhood based on Unity, Love and Respect...and a dedication to the empowerment of minorities and the universal woman.
