Lambda Theta Alpha strongly believes in giving back to the community. Here at Beta Theta we enjoy staying active and involved not only locally but also nationally. We also like to hold events that can continue on throughout the following years. A few of our events include:

In 2001 along with REACH Peer Education, Beta Theta was able to receive a grant to start a program that would then become a yearly event. It was to inform all college students of the dangers of having unprotected sex. The event provides free condoms, testing, and information about AIDS/HIV. Every year it has become larger as more organizations participate. With music, poetry, and dance to share personal stories and inform the general public, it is a really fun and informative experience.

"Latino HIV Awareness Day" On this day, we focus mostly on informing the Hispanic community about the dangers of unprotected sex. We promote free testing for everyone that day, pass out ribbons, and information booklets. You can always listen for us on the radio that day.

"Make A Difference Day" A fun-filled day of skits, games, and music, we spend the day with middle school-aged children. Every semester we cover different topics from sexual, emotional, drug abuse to peer pressure. We feel that since we are closer in age to them, we might be able to relate with them better. Although usually at Stonewall Jackson Middle School, all children of grades 6-8 are more than welcome. We provide them with lunch, prizes (cool school supplies, movie tickets, etc.), and positive role models.

"Hispanic Awareness Month" Every year we bring a different play to UCF. It always has to do with issues that Hipanics face and/or with our culture. We have brought plays such as "Yo Soy Latina" and "Platanos and Collard Greens." We are very grateful to say that every year has been a success!

| Nationally, we have put a great deal of effort into the hurricane relief projects that have been effect. In the local arena, we have also currently been very involved with the Creative School for Kids and Beta Center. | ||
